Whales, Puffins & Icebergs oh my!

Seeing how today's class involves water..and icebergs and things of that nature here are some more pics from my Newfoundland trip that relate to the class. The top picture was taken in Bonavista, the middle two pictures in Trinity and the fourth from Trouty. For the picture in Trouty I had to drive onto some persons front yard. I saw them come out of their house and I figured they were coming to yell at me for ruining their lawn but they took me to the other end of their yard so I could get a better picture (the one I posted).

..and this is a vid I took while driving through Bonavista, there's a shot of an iceberg at the end but not until after about a minute.

Ocean Exploration part.2

This is the John Cabot memorial in Cape Bonavista, just up the road from the Matthew (boat from previous post). Next to this memorial there is a little plaque dedicated to Cabot.

Ocean Exploration

I think this picture ties in nicely to our class about the days of ocean exploration and discovery. This ship is a recreation of the ship used by John Cabot when he crossed the Atlantic in 1497 and discovered Newfoundland.
